In my current role, I carry out extensive A&R research on behalf of the wider team, as the only employee dedicated to exploring up and coming artists. Highlights include: ? Researching international and national new talent, and developing my own extensive knowledge of contemporary and iconic artists. ? Presenting my findings to agents on a weekly basis and providing succinct reports and information to the senior agent team. ? Performing general administrative and secretarial duties.
The Affordable Art Fair has four UK based fairs a year, of which I am invited back as an assistant each time. Dealing with over 120 exhibitors, as well as artists, caterers and the fair management and production team, this role is both administrative and production based. Highlights include: ? Coordinating workshops, classes, exhibitions tours and the extensive education programme during the fair’s opening hours. ? Coordinating and assisting in the private and late night views and exhibition party. This involves assisting on the numerous bars throughout the venue and assisting in management of the performers.
I worked as a PA to the Creative Director and Client Services Director of the successful branding company BrandOpus. My organisation skills had to be of an extremely high standard, as did my ability to prioritize and multi-task. Highlights included; ? Coordinating client events and assisting with new business relationships. ? Handling diary management to both directors’ very busy schedules. ? Booking travel, coordinating client events and assisting in business preparation. ? Developing high levels of communicative skills.
I completed a placement at the Royal Opera House in their press office, where I assisted in both the ballet and opera departments. Highlights included: ? Liaising with photographers and journalists, and keeping up to date with coverage. ? Organizing tickets for press events and performances. ? Working with members of the ballet company, & other members of the ROH community. ? Undertaking general administrative assistance.
I worked directly with the press, marketing and buying teams at River Island. Highlights included: ? Assisting directly in the launch of the ‘Rihanna for River Island’ collection, and dealing with suppliers to ensure the completion of the collection in time for the launch event. ? Working with all buying teams and external suppliers to ensure product delivery for shoots with magazines such as GQ and Elle. ? Liaising with press clients and creating strong relationships with many publications. ? Working constantly with international markets and overseas press contacts, in order to receive optimum coverage, and to organize successful product launches.
Within this role at IMG Artists Ltd, I supported the office administrative and events teams. Highlights include: ? Working on reception, liaising with clients, artists and the IMG team. ? Assisting in organisation of client meetings, and general administrative duties. ? Supporting the events and bookings team, in venue research, liaising with venue management and assisting in booking artists. ? Gaining my first insight into the music industry and developing my understanding of working with and managing artists.
