Projects
- Blackboard OneA full size colour grading control panel. The first custom designed unit to work with Baselight colour grading software. This enabled FilmLight to realise the value of the high end market by providing the hardware to match the software. Its operated by a colourist who will adjust every shot to 'polish' the look of the content. The keys are arranged in an arc to minimise the reach of the operator.
- Projector ProbeA colour calibration instrument for projectors. This is required to ensure a colourist can be sure that the colour they are seeing will be the same as the customer will see once released. It features a laser target so the operator knows the area they are sampling while keeping an ergonomic stance.
- Blackboard TwoA full size colour grading control surface featuring a complete set of software adaptive keys. This is a significant upgrade to the Blackboard One. It allows user configurable layouts and controls for future tools. The keys were custom designed in-house featuring patent pending technology. The top surface is a real wood laminate construction which means every unit is unique.

Principal Industrial Designer

Working within the R&D team creating control surfaces, calibration instruments and on-set equipment for the film industry. Took 5 products to market from conception to production. Involved at all stages of design; user research, brief creation, concept design, prototyping & testing, interaction design, mechanical engineering, product visualisation, production set-up and process improvement. Experience of a broad range of production processes and manufacture liaison.
