About me
I am a highly motivated, charming, hard-working individual, who has received over 1,000,000 page views online and 150,000 Facebook shares as an ameteur journalist for the recently Murdoch invested publication, The Tab Media. As an amateur journalist during my time at Cardiff University, I managed, edited, and commissioned work to a team of 12 writers in order to out compete our rival student papers. Together we successfully reported on, and published the scoop in a timely manner whilst upholding standards of journalistic professionalism and sensitivity. The Tab Cardiff's facebook page grew by 8,000 under my editorial team's leadership, and we became The Tab's second most read regional publication within the country. Now I am an Operation's Coordinator, managing a team of 4, at a highly successful recruitment company, however am seeking work back within the world of publishing and words.

    Full Time
In a fast paced, meritocratic, environment, I am progressing through a recruitment graduate scheme to work for one of the best managed, and successful recruitment consultancies on the market, Angela Mortimer. Through the skillful, cheery, and organised running of a recruitment desk, I am currently the team leader of 4 other Operations Coordintors on the current scheme. Every two weeks we run surveys across the company to determine where profits could be saved and where efforts could be improved in order to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the organisation. Having stood for 40 years, the Angela Mortimer group exudes professionalism and encourages self-starters, entrepreneurial spirit, and confidence in good ideas. My graduate scheme teaches me how to run and manage an office, and allows me to add value to the organisation through reports and surveys that identify where the business needs further enhancement.

WalesOnline opened me to the variation of print and online publication. The team had me reporting four news stories a day, which included using social media to source current stories through searching regional areas via Facebook. I then had to politely contact people of interest to request permission to report their story. Quickly building a friendly relationship over the phone allowed me to report on local stories with attention to detail. My work was published in South Wales Echo, Western Mail, Glamorgan Gazette, WalesOnline. I understood what stories the audience sought both online and in print. Working within the office environment, with multiple publications, allowed me appreciate interaction with multiple fields within today’s media, alongside professional journalists. I attended court, provided leads on sports, and reported one of the day’s high performing stories where a marching band performed the ‘hakka’ during a national competition.
