About me
A journalist by training, I've spent the last six years working in print and digital production at two of the world's leading media companies. My focus here has been on taking my colleague's writing across the finish line, making sure the final product is polished, attention-grabbing and beautifully presented. I also have previous experience commissioning and writing award-winning features.

Mail Plus: an interactive daily edition for iOS and AndroidIn 2013 I was part of the launch team for Mail Plus, an ambitious, experimental daily format for tablets. It was my job to help convert the print edition into an immersive touchscreen experience, adapting and enhancing its content with fresh display copy, sidebars and in-depth picture galleries – all before the newspaper hit the stands the next day. For this I worked closely with a design team to maintain a slick, modern feel and with colleagues in tech to add interactive features in Adobe DPS.

I work as part of a small global team that handles news, features and investigations, as well as entertainment posts prioritised according to traffic. Other duties include editing text for videos, the BuzzFeed News app and newsletters. I also contribute to the house style guides, create training resources for colleagues (e.g. tips on clearer writing and covering sensitive topics) and advise writers and editors on corrections and updates.

Hired via a highly competitive graduate scheme, I worked primarily as a sub on the print edition’s features desk, with secondments to regional media, Mail Online and the launch team for an ambitious daily format for tablets. In addition to my regular duties on features and comment, I was put in charge of a constantly shifting diary spread and was often tasked with managing flatplans and allocating work on weekly sections (health, fashion, entertainment, personal finance, etc.) and special pullouts.
