I am a freelance illustrator, writer, fine artist and educator.
I have over twenty years’ experience working as a freelance artist, and as an art educator at post-16 and at university level.

I taught at Bilborough Sixth Form College for over 18 years and was Head of Art there from 2012-2020, overseeing the Art & Design A-Level courses, IB Art and History of Art A-Level.
During my time as Course Leader of Art, the department experienced its best ever results, with a substantial cohort. For example, in 2016, with a cohort of 85 students, 52% of students achieved an A* with us and 89% achieved A*-B, giving us an ALPS score of 2 and placing us within the top 2 percentile of the UK. (Compared to national average year of 12% A*.)
I have highly developed practical and technical skills: casting using resin, plaster, alginate, latex and glass wax; construction sculpture methods using wood, metal or found objects; printmaking in lino, collagraph, monoprint, screen-printing and etching; film and video editing using Macs and Adobe Premiere Pro/ Final Cut Pro X; digital editing using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; DSLR photographic work; scanning and printing for a variety of uses; graphics tablet work using high-spec WACOM tablets; file prep and use of laser cutter; painting using watercolours, acrylics, spray paint, oils, gouache; drawing using wet and dry media, including pencils, graphite sticks, charcoal and inks.
