I am a biodesigner and researcher interested in incorporating biological living systems principles into my designs. With a product design background, I discovered my passion for sustainable design after questioning the environmental impact of traditional manufacturing. I was exposed to this industry for 5 years as a designer and production manager in different SME's. In 2017, I undertook a strategic sustainable design course at University of Buenos Aires and in 2022, I graduated from Ma Biodesign at Central Saint Martins.
Projects
- Microcaptor: Microplastic Catchment SystemMicrocaptor is a non-invasive, effective and passive microplastic catchment system. With it is possible to catch harmful plastic debris in the ocean and also raise an awareness of the life cycle of plastics. This was a collaborative project with The Eco Org, a non-governmental organisation harnessing innovation for climate action in The Maldives.
- Bi-Oleum: Ecological remediation of household Used Cooking Oil (UCO)94% of European households throw UCO down the sink generating catastrophic environmental impact. The most disruptive being the effect on aquatic ecosystems and fat-berg sewer blockages. Bi-Oleum is an affordable easy-to-use household kit that attempts to solve this issue. It incorporates a non-pathogenic bacterial strain to bioremediate and remove domestic UCO, producing a clean output. This project challenges current human behaviours by incorporating a living, unharmful bacteria into our daily
- Crop: Cutting MachineCrop is a machine capable of cutting and blunting cables automatically with numerical control. It cuts and detaches cables with a section between 0.5 mm2 and 1.5 mm2. First, the rollers will the cable and drag it to the blades. Secondly, a cutting blade plus two exchangeable blunting blades - each one used depending on the cable's section - cut and blunt the cables.
