About me
Maisie Tedford is a Mixed Media Textile Designer that specialises in the use of bold colour with unusual materials combined with a multitude of different techniques that range from digital print to ultra sonic welded fabrics. She produces unique tactile textile materials for fashion.
Projects
- IONICI have always been interested in the beauty of Greece and the vast history that accompanies the country. From Greek vases to ancient ruins, the country has a wealth of information surrounding it. To inspire my designs, I have researched into Greek architecture, pottery, mosaics, Greek Gods, Goddesses and the myths that surround them as inspirations for my tactile fabrics. I have utilised a combination of techniques and skills such as CAD Embroidery, Print and Laser cutting to create mixed media
- OUT THEREThis project allowed me to creatively combine two passions of mine film and textiles whilst widening my subject knowledge. I pushed new boundaries and took risks throughout my work, utilising different processes to create unique fashion fabrics. Having been inspired by sci-fi films such as Star Wards, Blade Runner and Fifth Element I produced initial collages that inspired my chosen processes and fabrics such as the bright pink faux fur which references back to Star Wars’s Chewbacca.
