About me
Hi! My name is Makenzie Quinn. I'm an Interior Designer and Graphic Designer. I graduated from the University of the Arts London, Interior Design program which is an internationally recognized design school where I received a First-Class Honours. I was also awarded an Associate of the Chartered Society of Designers this past year. Completing a Business Degree prior to studying Interior Design has propelled me to develop an entrepreneurial mind-set that has prepared me to manage a busy and challenging work load. My business knowledge has taught me how to work in a professional manner and thrive in fast-moving environments. I specialize in residential and restaurant interior design but I also have experience in designing retail and co-living developments. Having travelled the world, including living in three different countries, I have studied and been exposed to a wide variety of design, architectural, and art influences. My approach is to create minimalist and timeless spaces, focusing on using natural materials while also considering the heritage and context of the building. I’m interested in using an innovative mind-set to design products that will enhance others’ lives both functionally and aesthetically. I am continuously looking for original and inventive ways to make others’ lives more efficient yet incorporate ideas which are more aesthetically unique. My strengths are concept development, creating presentations, brochures and design packages, but especially 2D and 3D visualizations. I am very comfortable on programs such as Auto-Cad, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

Phenomena : Co-Living Development at Walton Court, Walton-on-ThamesThe goal was to integrate nature into the design through the use of natural materials. A minimal palette of travertine stone, natural oak wood and concrete was applied throughout the space due to its presence in the original building. Using natural materials is an important part of the design scheme because it is an extension of wellness. The aim was to bring in nature through subtle and indirect ways in order to maintain a connection with nature without sacrificing the overall aesthetic.
