About me
Hi! I am Maks, an Illustrator and Graphic Designer based in London/Chisinau. In 2018, I graduated with a First-Class Honours in Graphic Design from Oxford Brookes. I have 4 years of experience working in an office environment as a Graphic Designer, and I am also working on illustration and design projects as a freelancer in my free time. I enjoy thinking conceptually and visualising complicated ideas that are difficult to express using words. Fluent in Russian, Romanian, and English.

Editorial illustration for Hook JournalNijuu (aka Yujin Jo) is a South Korean artist who began making music after relocating to South East London. She took part in a Q&A and compiled a mixtape for Hook Journal. The Hook mixtape is compiled through a series of music related questions. Each artist who fills it out can answer as many or as few of the questions as they wish, and elaborate on their choices, or let them speak for themselves. MAPS - A study on migration, isolation, and the reading of mapsI've put together my first ever zine and I couldn't be more excited! MAPS — a visual eisegesis | a study on migration, isolation, and the reading of maps It consists of a series of collages linked together by one common element - maps. My goal was to turn this apparently soulless, dull, practical object, into an expressive and emotional tool that carries strong sentiments related to seclusion, separation, and isolation. This is a very personal project and an important mile-stone for me and
  • Designing and formatting a series of books for Cornelius Coe
Designing and formatting a series of books for Cornelius CoeCornelius Coe is the pen-name of a writer based in Swindon, UK. His work can be described as Dark, Psychological, Mystery and Noir. I like to call it Kafka-esque. He never quite promoted his books and didn't really use covers for them, so he and his work wasn't known to the public. I helped him with a series of covers that would spark the interest of a potential reader of this specific genre.
