UI Designer and Freelance Graphic DesignerLondon, United Kingdom
About me
I’m an Artist and Designer from Nottingham, currently based in London. Specialising in design for the music industry, digital collaging and pattern work. My love for design mainly derives from the raw and authentic creation of Reggae and Dancehall vinyl covers and events posters. I grew up surrounded by art from the Caribbean and African Diaspora, which has influenced a lot of my pattern and Illustration work. I have been lucky to work in-house and also produce freelance work across a wide spectrum of brands including Apple, Sky, Warner Music Group, The Blues Project and GUAP. Whilst working at Warner I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with a range of artists within Warner’s roster, from Global acts such as Ed Sheeran and Gorillaz, to more up and coming artists like Rachel Chinouriri. Working with a range of artists has allowed me to have creative freedom, whilst also being challenged to translate the artists aesthetic across a UI that feels easy to interact with and still remain familiar and relatable to their fanbase. I’ve been able to apply my graphic and illustration skills across many projects and develop new skills such as designing for 8-bit games and using 3D software. I enjoy sharing how I navigated my way into the industry and what it has taught me so far. I have experience in mentoring designers at the beginning of their career with my most recent mentee just starting their Junior UX Design role at Tesco. I have given 1:1 portfolio reviews to students at University and D&AD New Blood pencil winners after being a judge on one of the creative briefs this year. I’m also passionate about sharing my experience with others and have been grateful to sit on panels at Goldsmiths University, Brainstation and Creative Lives in Progress.
