WildBrain, a subsidiary of DHX Media, is a producer and distributor of children’s and pre-school content and manages one of the largest catalogues on YouTube for this market. I am responsible for the development, day-to-day operation and maintenance of over 50 YouTube channels for DHX Media and third party clients. My channels include content such as Teletubbies, Yo Gabba Gabba and Caillou. These include localised channels in 16 languages, with a worldwide viewership of millions per month. My daily tasks include scheduling new content, new channel launches, obtaining and analysing viewership and revenue data. I source data from YouTube analytics, Google Trends and Google AdWords, then use analytics tools to validate existing strategies, collate and report my findings to guide future programming, marketing and investment decisions. I work with the Paid Media Manager to propose and monitor the running of A/B Tests for search engine optimisation during Pay Per Click campaigns to generate audience growth. Based on the conclusions, I create new copy, graphics and metadata for my videos and channels to capitalise on developing trends. I liaise with the various brand managers and external clients to develop effective cross promotion strategies. I review and monitor compliance with licensing obligations, maintaining regular contact with our legal team.
