The Bollywood company is a group of professional dancers managed by the founder Nileeka Bose. As the marketing intern my main aim was to research and come up with online marketing strategies to promote the company’s brand name. This involved; researching for online advertising space for the company and coming up with innovative ideas to enhance their social existence on websites such as Facebook and Twitter. Other than online marketing, I was also responsible for promoting their drop in classes which took place at the Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden. As the only intern I got the opportunity to attend client meetings and further assist Nileeka in fulfilling client demands.
Interning at the account (client) management department allowed me to grasp an understanding of client communication and client expectations. During my time there I observed the process of how a brief is turned into an idea and then further presented to clients. I was involved in two projects and got the chance to attend most of the client presentations and meetings. Being present in client meetings gave me a sense of independence while spurring self-development in terms of my communication skills. Whilst working on the two projects I was also participated in market research which involved researching; the target audience, market risk and competition and coming up with marketing strategies on how to overcome them.
I took responsibility of planning and advertising the re-launching event of Restaurant Stadt Rosbach. This included designing leaflets, decor and scheduling multiple performances.
Media Punjab is an online newspaper catering to North Indians living outside of India. I assisted a journalist who was covering a North Indian sports festival taking place in Frankfurt. This experience allowed me to enhance my language and creative writing skills and learn how to cater to a specific target audience in terms of story development and interviews formations.
