Alongside with my degree I started work at the renowned Cereal Killer Café, one of London’s busiest cafes. I was trained to make all of the extravagant drinks the menu offers including the maltshakes (which are more like freakshakes) and the stacked hot chocolates, all of which have been featured in the likes of Time Out magazine and various online publications. As a tourist hotspot, there is a heightened level of importance for store presentation because of the shop’s famous Instagram and online presence. I have strengthened my communication skills as the café attracts cereal lovers from all nationalities, having to explain the concept multiple times a shift, in a way all can understand. Additionally, helping customers who have allergies or dietary requirements, I was able to point out items on the menu which were suitable for them. I have become very efficient in upselling foodstuffs, drinks and merchandise to maintain a high average transaction value. When required I also work at the sister Camden branch.
