    Kevin Macdonald & Mohammad Tajsar ACLU SoCal on The MauritanianOnline discussion with Academy award-winning director Kevin Macdonald & ACLU SoCal senior staff attorney Mohammad Tajsar, whose work primarily focuses on national security and counterterrorism policy, to discuss his new film The Mauritanian. The film is based on the New York times best-selling memoir Guantanamo Diary and true story of Mohamedou Ould Slahi’s fight for freedom after being imprisoned without charge and tortured by the U.S. Government in Guantanamo Bay, for 14 years.

    Second Home is a creative workspace and cultural venue, bringing together diverse industries, disciplines and types of social businesses. Skills and work include: COMMUNICATIONS – Copywriting (event promotion, member stories, member directory, press releases, social media, etc.); – Drafting and briefing design assets (signage, posters, flyers, collateral, etc.) and working closely with design studios; – Communications for social media and internal platforms, including working with photoshop, mailchimp, pardot and salesforce. – Writing press releases, namely for a one-year events programme in partnership with the British Embassy and the GREAT fund, – Outsourcing partnerships with the local Lisbon community; – Leading and hosting an events programme, Be Better sessions, to support the skills exchange between members of the Second Home community ; – Coordinating a video shoot / virtual tour of the space; – Helping coordinate an innovation programme in partnership with Lisbon City Council to help bridge the Lisbon and London entrepreneurial communities. EVENTS – Events curation, programming and production - a monthly cultural programme (2 to 4 cultural events weekly); – Programming and producing and event series in partnership with the British Embassy Lisbon and GREAT fund to bring some of the best U.K. creatives, entrepreneurs to Lisbon. Speakers have included Baroness Martha Lane-Fox, Prof. Marcus du Sautoy, Bompas & Parr, Pip Jamieson (The Dots) David Hepworth, Sol Rogers, Ben Morris, Eloise King (VICE, i-D, Women on Docs), FRAME, Marcus Fairs (Dezeen), Help Refugees and more. – Wellness programme (yoga, workouts, meditation and more).
