I'm a visual artist and writer born, living, and working in London. I graduated in 2017 with a MA in History in Art with Photography at Birkbeck, University of London. My practice incorporates text and digital and analogue photography as a form of visual language.
In December 2020, I was awarded an Arts Council Lottery Grant for my project Whispering for help. The project was initiated by my experience with anxiety/depression. This series consists of handwritten testimonies and portraits that document women of colour lived experiences with their mental health and well-being.
In 2019, I was shortlisted for the Metro Imaging X Satori Mentorship. I have exhibited as part of Open Eye Gallery, PhotoEast Photography Festival, Der Grief, Reclaiming Photography Festival and, Portrait Salon 2019. I have also exhibited with American-based photography collectives, Too Tired Project, Lenscratch and, Humble Arts Foundation.
In March 2021, I featured in The Photographers' Gallery online Artist Talk with Tami Aftab and Emma Bowkett, where we discussed the intersection between art and health. I will be exhibiting as part of the Rotterdam Photo 2021 festival in June and will have work published in Invisible Britain: This Separated Isles book in 2021.
