About me

Marilena is a performer-director-choreographer-movement director and dancer from Greece and her work identifies as devised, physical theatre. Her background is in contemporary and classical ballet dance. In 2017 she completed her BA in the Theatre Arts Department of The American College of Greece with a minor in Dance. She currently finished the MFA Advanced Theatre Practice at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She debuted her Solo Show ’Night Out’ in London last July 2018 which she devised and performed. Her latest Solo Movement Improvisation Show ‘Proper Time’ was performed at CPT this June. Marilena received an Award of Recognition for her short movement improvisation film ’conf-lict-dential’, in the Best Shorts Competition, CA in December 2018. Marilena has worked as a dancer in various productions with most recent the opera ‘Apollo’s Mission’ by Mousic Troupe. Marilena’s latest works include the production of the immersive dance theatre show ‘Transcendence’ by Edifice Dance Theatre where she created and choreographed the audience experience, and the movement direction of the devised piece ‘Talk Propa’ at the Pleasance theatre in London.
