Born in 1993, at Luxembourg, came to Portugal at eleven years old. In 2012, she holds a photography degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar. The following year she was awarded an honourable mention, referring to the Memories Award by Fotograf’arte, Leiria. In 2014, she goes to Brussels for one semester through the Erasmus+ program, for the NARAFI school, which belongs to Luca School of Arts. In 2016, she graduates and join the Photography Laboratory - CI.CLO, where she had de opportunity to be selected for the portfolio review of the International Photography and Visual Arts Festival, PhotoEspaña and to participate in two artistic residencies, at Museu da Luz, in Mourão and at the Cortex Frontal, in Arraiolos, both in Portugal. The same year, she was invited to participate in the collective exhibition #12, at the IPT Gallery, Center of Art and Imagem in Tomar. In 2017, following the CI.CLO platform, Ruptio belong to a collective exhibition called Unity & Division, at the Portuguese Photography Center (CPF), Porto; at Fotofestiwal Lodz, Poland; at Douro Museum, Douro and next, at the School of Visual Arts NYC, New York.
The work she has been developing with photography explores the issues if the real and imaginary, the authentic and simulacrum, relating them to what is photography through intern and personal concerns that, also, become collective.
Projects
- RuptioConceptual project that is based on the contradiction between the fragmented I and the deconstructed identity. Body and object attempt artificial mixing in a society that favors aesthetics and body, making it a reality in which only those who reach these standards belong, leading to the depersonalization of the subject. This turns out to be a simulacrum of others, contained in it. At the same time, the simulacrum and the camouflage are linked to the questions of what photography is; A double between the authentic and the simulacrum of itself.
