About me
To view my portfolio, please visit the following website: https://www.markjobanputra.com/ My words are your business! I am an accomplished and self-assured recent graduate from Brunel University whose proofreading and editing skills are indispensable for the modern-day workplace. I wish to utilise these skills in order to liaise with contemporary talent and refine their manuscripts fittingly before public consumption. Being a content writer for Brunel University’s Special Collections Blog was invaluable as it allowed for my work to be published online for the first time. A short story revolving around my experience with epilepsy entitled 'Pepilepsy' was uploaded onto the exclusive Brunel Special Collections blog and met with an enthusiastic reception from readers, most of whom knew nothing about the condition. An essay I wrote to a 2:1 standard during my undergraduate degree was used as an exemplar by intellectual powerhouse Dr Grace Halden to show English Literature students taking the 'Lost in the Funhouse American Literary Fiction Since the 1960s' at Birkbeck College how to write a cohesive academic essay. All projects, reports and documents will be to the most polished standard because I would rather see a smile on your face than sadness in my heart. At a typing speed of 90 wpm, I guarantee edits will be punctual. Working with Convosphere demonstrated the importance of tailoring content appropriately to uphold the voice of a brand. The only way I can see myself building upon my love of words would be developing your company and making it speak volumes through emotion, fluency and panache to drive traffic to your website and further your business.

I performed word-for-word proofing of assigned B2B blog posts in their pre-publication stage and identified and corrected grammatical, punctuation, spelling and syntactical errors to retain readability. I rewrote blog posts according to style guidelines and ensured written content was aimed at a B2B audience. I compared original and revised documents to ensure requested revisions are done in a timely manner. I consulted the company checklist and liaised with the Content Marketing Manager and verified they adhered to best practice and portrayed their intended message before being uploaded on the Convosphere website.

I curated manuscripts to educate readers on matters overlooked by society and liaised with other writers to exchange feedback and implement appropriate editorial strategies. I coordinated feedback sessions and led editorial strategies with creative writing students on behalf of the University, in turn, creating opportunities for manuscripts to be improved on a weekly basis. We investigated the Burnett Archive of Working-Class Autobiographies and used their works to understand niche societal issues; this resulted in a story I wrote entitled 'Pepilepsy' being published onto the Brunel Special Collections blog.
