- Fight Club BriefFight Club, The Narrator (Edward Norton’s Character) I used the same principle as Marla with pencils, chalks and inks. I did experiment with the colour schemes though, as you can see in the example below. After much back and forth I decided to go with a colour scheme similar to Marla’s as it was less jarring and it made them work better as a set. I actually preferred the first finished Narrator as an individual image, as you can see as it actually portrayed his lack of sleep and general demise i
- Star Wars – Merchandise ConceptsI was asked by a company to put together all the Artwork for their retail box concept. During my concept stages and a few pitches the company was granted a license from Disney for Star Wars. We did get contracts with two High Street Chains however the project was pulled later due to production costs and economics. I produced all the Artwork for the interior, exterior and merchandise products inside the box. The only product I didn't come up with inside (as it was just a concept idea), was the Origami vehicle pieces, which came from the wonderful Star Wars Origami book by Chris Alexander. The idea was to have an included vacuumed T-Shirt, iron-on badges (to personalize the T-Shirt), sticker decals, collectible Artwork / Posters. Also we thought it be great if the box could be used as some sort of staging. The idea of this was to minimize the Carbon Footprint of the product, as so much packaging today is simply thrown away. Also it would make the product more fun for the consumer! You will see the idea I came up with further down the page.
- Foals – What Went Down Album Press ReleaseA press release I was asked to do for the band “Foals” latest album. The Illustration also appeared in one of my favourite music magazines “Mojo.” One of the songs on the album is called “London Thunder,” hence the skyline and buildings. The brief was to include the lead singer Yannis in the foreground, and London’s skyline in a stormy atmosphere. Luckily I was told the composition didn’t have to me geographically accurate, which helped massively!! I sent a few versions through to Mojo and they went for a grey-scale option, which when I saw it in print, looked fantastic!
