I work on a diverse range of projects in my day-to-day work, supporting various branches with print and promotional material such as new car launches and weekend events. My work output ranges from posters to direct mail to develop design elements that can be used in Google GDNs and various other digital formats. I work to tight timescales, often being required to prepare press advertisements to be sent to the printer within a few hours. Working closely with stakeholders and franchise managers, I develop creative marketing solutions to solve sales issues and aid in communication with in-house staff. These solutions usually consist of campaign plans and presentations. My goal is to communicate effectively to the customer so they are receiving the right information to make their car buying experience, and any dealings with Arnold Clark services, easy and stress-free. I have worked with franchises such as BMW, MINI, Peugeot, Arnold Clark Motorstore, Mercedes-Benz, Vauxhall, Renault, Dacia and various in-house campaigns. I was also allowed to be a part of the team that developed the new Arnold Clark brand and visual collateral for the head office in Hillington, Glasgow.
I interviewed and was the successful candidate chosen for a graduate placement at 999 Design in Glasgow. I had the opportunity to work on various briefs with the design team.
Prior to working at Arnold Clark, I had the great opportunity to work for Teviot Creative, one of the leading design agencies in Edinburgh. While at this company, we were divided into small pods, each being assigned an account to work on. My pod worked with The Regis Corporation, a hair salon company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a portfolio of over 9,700 hair salons across the globe. I helped to provide various design requirements, creating a vast range of print material for the salons, including point-of-sale, brochures, and digital advertising.
After graduating from art school, I completed a Graduate Design Placement with Whitespace Studio. My main role was to work on social media campaigns, branding and advertising.
Created and developed branded literature, on-brand visuals and other collateral for a broad range of visual communications, including display and exhibition stand artwork, presentation graphics, advertisements and promotional literature, as well as product development. Provided vital advice on the use of design and print, as well as guidance on the application of our corporate branding and style. I created the key designs and produced corporate merchandise, as well as assisted in the maintenance of the digital image library.
I was chosen from my graduating class for a summer design internship for Brand Union, an award-winning global brand agency in London. This was an invaluable stepping stone that helped me gain hands-on experience and meet leading industry designers.
Over the past few years, I have developed a small client list of local businesses where my services are to create branding, visuals, advertisements and social media artwork. The key is to meet the requirements of the client and to help develop their brand's visual language. Also, provide a service of original designed illustrations and artwork for private collections or corporate business
