Hi there! I'm Marta, a resourceful and curious product designer with 4 years of experience collaborating with startups.
During these years I’ve learned to take care of products from end to finish, to stress over having a user-centered approach, making the design thinking method my own, and ultimately managing my own work and that of the teams I've been working with.
I often leverage the design sprint methodology, and I’m currently studying the subject of gamification.
Also, I obsess over hyper-organized Notion files and love to nerd on every other no-code tool.
If you're curious to see some of the projects I've worked on, feel free to explore my portfolio at www.martab.design. I'm also more than happy to chat further if you'd like to connect.
Cheers!

UX/UI DesignerFreelance
Milan, ItalyFreelance
Working with startups is being more and more challenging and satisfying for my professional and personal growth. During my freelance experience, I collaborated with 5 startups operating in different industries, from blockchain technology to sexual health.
Often being the only designer of the team, I learned to master the whole design process, using the power of design sprints to archive quick results keeping a lean approach.
Most of the times I got involved from the ideation phase, which has been great for acquiring an entrepreneurial mindset, and be able to understand the businesses’ needs besides the user’s ones.
Versatility is the other main skill I developed, while being asked to design a variety of different products - from investors decks to chrome extension.
As I write this description, I’m aware I’m constantly growing and getting passionate about the startup environment and work methods, which I’m so grateful for, because the teams I worked with allowed me to contribute to make disruptive ideas reality through design, solving problems that affect thousands of people. This is the job I love doing and I hope to get better and better doing!

Web designerThink Open
- Milan, ItalyFull Time
During my experience in ThinkOpen, I worked with project managers and developers in order to improve business satisfaction. On the design side, I redesigned pre-existing websites and, for the new ones, I made multiple identities and design proposals.
On the development side, I trained in front-end until coding a website on my own starting from an existing design. Finally, I improved the UX and consequently UI of a CRM.
The experience was useful to comprehend the design-development workflow, get into business dynamics, and start presenting attractively projects and proposals to PMs and clients.

The Complete React Developer courseWild Code School
- Milan, Italy
I attended the first Italian edition of React full-stack at Wild Code thanks to the scholarship offered by SheTech. It has been a five-month full-time course, in which I have covered all the aspects of web development, with a practice-first approach. I have made three group projects: a blog, a browser for visually impaired people, and a food web app for a company.

Web Design Professional CourseDot Academy
- Milan, Italy
Dot Academy has been a great way to boost my skills as a web designer, after making some landing pages as a freelance and training online.
During this full-time in-person course I was faced with three real-life projects: the design of e-commerce, two landing pages to code by scratch, and one to develop in WordPress.
Followed step by step by our instructor, I exercised in HTML and CSS, adopted an optimized workflow learning the best practices, got to know a lot of further resources, and definitely entered the right web designer mindset.
