About me
My name is Martyn and I am a writer. Now, that might seem like a pretty basic introduction, but I’m telling you, it’s not that easy a thing to say. To some, that could sound like, “Hi, I’m Charlemagne and I’m a Virgo.”
It’s been a long road getting here.
Sure, in my teens and early twenties I wrote and performed in bands, but that’s nothing new. During this time I worked in sales - anything with low commitment to not interfere with the band, ya know? Turned out to be pretty good at it, but I wanted more creativity in my life and so at 25 I went to Uni to study Music Technology. I came out of that with a degree and three jobs in the Music Industry: Live Agent’s Assistant, Club Booker and A&R Scout.
I went on to work in the Music Industry for over 10 years, within indie and major teams; I put out hundreds of records, over a thousand shows and managed highly acclaimed international touring artists.
Then, all of a sudden, life took me down another path....
