Since I graduated in July of 2014, I have not begun working.
I interned here in the summer of 2013 and then again over Christmas of the same year. • Checked quality of merchandise as it came in • Received deliveries and checked stock • Strengthened the importance of paying attention to detail • Worked well under pressurised circumstances and tight deadlines • Dealt with unforeseen problems well and adapted to changes quickly
• Ordered stock and dealt with suppliers • Received deliveries and learnt the importance of checking stock • Worked on the shop floor where the importance of customer service was emphasised and put into practice • Was trained in receiving and requisitioning prescriptions, which requires a lot of concentration and responsibility.
This company shows at exhibition shows and events around once a month most of the year, and every day for a few weeks towards the end of the year where I would work as their sales advisor. • Put knowledge of visual merchandising into practice when displaying the jewellery • Reinforced service and communication skills when tending to customers • Worked under pressurised circumstances resulting in being able to multitask efficiently.
• Improved interpersonal, service and communication skills and ability to learn new things quickly. • Made milkshakes and had to learn measurements and recipes for these and serve customers.
• Performed admin tasks such as filing, which strengthened organisational skills • Learnt basic accounting work including payroll and PAYE • These tasks improved understanding of Microsoft Excel and boosted confidence in talking to new people and general knowledge on the financial side of a business.
Fashion Management, which covered many areas of a fashion business, including buying, merchandising, marketing, PR and social media. This included working as consultants for a real company and creating many projects for real companies.
