My photographic work (digital as well as analogue) is rather eclectic and consists primarily of conceptual photography and visual communication. I am interested in visual commentary of commonly perceived subjects, playing with different meanings of an idea or a well established term. My work also dwells into personal observations of common facts or standalone subjects.
Starting from an improvisation technique in the art of theatrical acting called “object transformation”, which assumes that an object can change its meaning through how it is played/viewed/perceived – for example a tennis ball can be transformed into an apple by mimicking the gesture of wanting to bite it like in an apple –, I am premising my work on finding new and valid meanings to regular everyday reality.
Projects
- Fash!onPlastic plays a major role in the fashion industry. With regards to this aspect of the wider project I am using various plastic materials for clothing in a “fashion photoshoot” in a deserted building. The entire setup aims at being in contrast to what the fashion industry shows as very glamorous and affordable. Plastic suffocates us, depresses and poisons us slowly but steady if we do not take control and reduce it.
