I am a music-loving marketeer, keen to explore other industries and bring my unique take on marketing to a new team! Starting my career touring the country in bands, become a marketeer at a record label felt like the natural progression after finishing uni. Working in music has given me strong project management skills, from the briefing and commissioning of assets through to admin and budget management. Whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed this, I am now looking to move to another industry to spread my wings further and grow to my full potential!
Formulating marketing and advertising plans with the product manager. Pitching, briefing and delivering of creative content assets. Formulating digital and TV advertising campaigns with the product manager and media agencies. Asset collection, organisation and delivering; audio and artwork creation of soundbeds for TV and digital adverts. Processing invoices and general budget management. I have now progressed to manage my own projects too.
Managing campaigns for roster artists, ranging from A&R and artists management through to release planning and social media. Took over artists mid-campaign, sourcing remixes from current contacts and planning ways to reinvigorate releases. Tour budgeting and coordination of video shoots. Collating press, writing/distributing campaign updates to the wider team, and delivering all assets.
Responsibilities range from general office tasks and raising invoice POs through to A&R scouting and dealing with artists on the road. Ad hoc duties have included everything from arranging the manufacture of merchandise for an international artist through to sourcing a new CD-J for an artist mid-tour to selling merchandise at an artist’s show. Involved in the marketing campaign of international heritage band X Japan, assisting to achieve a Top 30 album for an artist with no previous UK sales history.
Founding member of pop-rock band, ended late-2016. ‘Management’ role provided me with organisational skills, including taking the lead in negotiating contracts; meetings with international companies; sourcing, pricing and distributing merchandise; securing studios, video production companies, photography, online music distribution and PR; organising shows, transportation, accommodation and booking fees. Work as a session musician following this gave me further tour experience, including a sold out O2 Academy UK tour in 2016. Tour management roles have included international bands playing mid-size UK festivals and O2 Academies.
