About me

Matthew Fleming is a photographer based in the North West of England. He studied History at Lancaster University. Photographing from a young age, Matthew started shooting "seriously" when he was twelve years old. Developing a taste for film photography, Matthew specialises in documentary, street, and travel photography with a classic, refined style. His work explores cultures, people, and places with an authentic and candid technique. He is happiest with a pocketful of film, searching for the next thing that moves him most. • JOURNALThe first and second edition of an ongoing series of zines under the collective title of "Journal". The work will cover a diverse collection subjects- sometimes reflecting a specific event, place, or theme. There are no set rules- it is a vehicle to gather thoughts and reflections together in a printed collection. Issue 1 vaguely investigates Lancashire during the Autumn.   Mackenzie James Cregan EP Cover ShootPhotoshoot to provide a variety of press shots and an EP cover for singer songwriter, Mackenzie Creegan (son of Jim Cregan of Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel).  Limited to a fourty-five minute session- the work was shot entirely on Ilford HP5 film, using only available light.  Brief was for several images communicating a soulful, morose, vintage aesthetic.  Shot on location- Liverpool, May 2018.
