About me

Hi, My names Matthew Kerslake I'm 22 years old and currently an Advertising & Brand Design student at University. My passion for the creative world started when I was a young child. More specifically I discovered it after I went to watch Pixars ‘Toy Story’ film in the cinema. It blew me away. No seriously. Someone left the cinemas emergency door open at the bottom and they were having gale winds that almost took my six year old self out my seat. Jokes aside, the film took my breath away at the overall complexity, beauty and technological input that it offered. After being exposed to such an influential piece of entertainment, it promoted me to pursue a career in 3D computer animation. Getting older, wiser, and with the progression of stubble accumulating on my face, I began delving down the digital design route. Specifically within Graphics/Video/Photography.

  Billboard Advertisement DesignThe Idea was to promote 'Staedtler' coloured pencils unique 'ABS' technology to a new target market than oppose to their current market being children, with the use of illustration and imagery, to be used on a 96 page billboard.

  Music Album DesignThis was a brief that was set at university. We were approached and asked to choose an artist of our choice and create a solution that would represent their music. Ben Howard was my choice, and I based the design off his current album ‘Every Kingdom’. The design delivers the true emotion of loneliness, something that could be relatable to the lyrics within his songs. Image was constructed of multiple photographs that were merged seamlessly into the final print.
