About me
MAUDGOLDBERG DESIGN STUDIO has been established as a creative platform to challenge the way we see and interact with the world. Maud believes that well considered and original design can do just that. She understands the positive impact of pattern and repeat. Maud has a particular way of viewing the content of our everyday, composing contemporary graphic designs from the often-overlooked banal details of our lives. For Maud Surface Design has become a catalyst to turn the good the bad and the ugly into something artful that we feel compelled to connect to, something that keeps us grounded but also gives us possibilities to create our own narrative. She uses materials available to all of us, finding freedom within form, telling a story in abstract ways. Her work combines authentic everyday material with contemporary tools. By merging real with digital and conceptual with decorative Maud is developing a practice grounded in exploring overlaps and pushing boundaries. She currently works as a freelance designer licensing, selling and developing her own line of products. Her designs are applied to a range of materials and products, infiltrating our life with ventures in Interior Decor and Craft. Maud works both alone and in collaborative practice. Building a collective of connected and connective people across cultures and lands through design is at the core of Maud's work.
Projects
  • Dot Line Project
Dot Line ProjectI set myself a bit of a playful project alongside current Design work. Something still super minimal that is as much about form and content as it is about concept and process. I chose Dot and Line because I love both. I am not sure if I will keep it to one of each to set 'severe' parameters or grow from there into full blown linear dotty stuff. Unsure if it will involve colour or continue thereon black and white. Considered and accidental research makes for solid design, something playful something serious something tearing at the edges something just calm. Equilibrium and contrast. (Can't help thinking 'album cover' each time I peek at this)
