About me
Besides having a creative and enquiring mind, I have a flexible and positive approach to employment and am willing to train to enhance my working experience. Receptive, highly motivated and innovative I am always up for a challenge and enjoy finding a creative fix to complex problems. Having lived around the world (South Africa, Dubai and England) I resultantly have well developed people skills and enjoy socialising. My recent year of travelling through the America’s (3 months of which I spent living in a van with self-designed living space) has resulted in a strong ability to adapt quickly to changing and challenging circumstances. My travels have fuelled my pre-existing love of yoga and international cuisine and culture, adding to my existing preoccupation with and love for art and the cultural energies that surround it. With a good taste for travel and diverse range of experience and interests, I believe that I can make a solid and happy contribution to any work environment.
Projects
- Collage CollectiveI have always enjoyed the effect of layers when used creatively as a means of manifesting, or rather attempting to depict, the meeting points between life, art, travel and culture. In this personal project I use images, experiences and artworks I have encountered to portray moments from my recent year of travels.
Projects credited in
- Who Cares Wins with Lily Cole- Podcast ArtworkAs a freelancer for Mags Creative, I had the privilege of rebranding the artwork and social channels for the podcast 'Who Cares Wins with Lily Cole'. The artwork needed to catch the listeners attention and portray the environmental themes of the podcast. As part of this brief I also had to create promotional banners featured on Apple Podcasts as well as various social assets used on instagram posts and stories to promote episodes of the show.

Undertook an intensive Graphic design course in Cape Town as a means to improve my skill set whilst away. I utilised my new skills to immediately to design Graphics for a Bee-keeper training manual for Bee Parks Trust, and for various personal projects, including a Logo for a Golf T-shirt and a Post-op Mastectomy Gown.
BA(Hons) History of Art (First Class)University of Leeds
- Leeds, United Kingdom
Having always had a spontaneous affinity towards the arts, I abandoned plans to pursue a career in the sciences and happily chose to read History of Art at Leeds University. I thoroughly enjoyed my degree, finding the more abstract theologies of Aesthetics and Gender identities particularly stimulating. For my dissertation in third year I wrote a 15000 word piece on Gender Identities in Contemporary South African art. Broadly, it explored the way transgressive parodies of stark gender binaries found in select artists work investigate the ways in which queerness provides a platform for reflection upon South African historical narratives and systems.
