Copies May Be Had: Likenesses of the Floating Carte de Visite COPIES MAY BE HAD explores the multiple natures of the antique photographic format, the Carte de Visite (CDV).  This exploration is predicated on building a private collection from scratch, and acquiring CDV from antique and online UK based shops.  Construction of the collection took three overlapping constituting stages; firstly, collecting the CDV, secondly, cataloguing the CDV, and thirdly, using the catalogued 195 photographs, to propagate new images.  These new images address the physical nature of the CDV and is informed by the textual information therein.  www.FloatingCDV.com
