About me
I am a highly experienced marketer. An adept practical thinker and great team-player, always finding a way to resolve challenges with the support of colleagues. Extensive client side and agency side international experience, having worked in Australia, Japan and across Europe. I have delivered various digital projects from very large (e.g. European digital transformations) to discrete (e.g. design thinking workshops) projects. I have experience in creating marketing solutions across the technology, beauty, automotive, sports retail and professional service sectors. I speak business-level Japanese, and enjoy practicing yoga and keeping fit in my spare time.

- Mazda - Simply, know meWe were working with Mazda for a while when this project came across, we had massive amount of data on the current platform across 26 countries, but we needed to look at the whole experience with new eyes. Our challenge was to design the ultimate customer experience of looking for and buying a car. Not a specific Mazda, but any car. When does the sense of ownership starts? When does fidelity comes in? How can we merge the online and offline research, with the final purchase needed to be always i
- Mazda EuropeMazda is a brand with a wealth of stories to tell. Yet few outside the brand and its keenest fans are aware of its heritage or philosophy. Our task was to produce a destination site that would house a diverse set of contents, then a series of interactive elements that will engage and inform anyone curious about Mazda. The campaign opens with eight web films covering various stories; Mazda's roots in Hiroshima and the influence of traditional craft skills (such as sword-making) are two of the eight themes at the campaign's launch. The campaign is held together by the line 'Defy Convention'.These will be soon followed by 'Drive through history', a highly immersive timeline. Syzygy is developing more interactive elements as part of a long-term strategy to cement and develop Mazda's reputation as a convention-defying brand. Stef Tiratelli, chief executive of Team Mazda Europe, says, 'The new strategy allows Mazda to share some wonderful, authentic stories in a meaningful and engaging way, and marks the start of a new wave of communication from the car marque.'Creative direction was shared between Florian Schmitt of Hi-Res, Dan Howarth and Victor Sahate at Syzygy, and Eddy Greenwood and Stan Gruel at JWT Dusseldorf. JWT Dusseldorf filmed various Mazda employees in Japan, highlighting Mazda's heritage and values.
Work history
Business DirectorSyzygy
- London, United KingdomFull Time
At SYZYGY, a full service digital marketing agency, I was responsible for a group of clients covering technology, automotive, beauty and the professional services industries. One of my latest key projects was client lead on a major European digital transformation project for a Japanese multinational on the Adobe platform. The project involved working with off shore developers on the build and with a wide range of stakeholders and management right up to C-suite, across Europe.
I also worked extensively and for a long period as the key client services contact for Mazda Motors Automotive. I was the client lead and point of interface for all stakeholders at Mazda Motors Europe (European headquarters in Germany), on their latest and largest project to create the ‘Mazda Ideal Online Experience’ – an extremely large digital change project. I was part of the pitch team that won and retained this key business for SYZYGY.
This project involved redeveloping the best in class digital experience, across 23 countries in 18 languages, on the latest version of EPiServer for Mazda. I was required to have a strong oversight of all project aspects from SEO, User Experience, CGI development, User testing to Mazda brand and loyalty programs. I was ultimately responsible for all communications to and from the client, and regularly presented to large stakeholder groups, and internally briefed and advised the team on client expectations and deliverables.
In addition to the above direct client responsibilities, I oversee other Asian, North American and African Mazda markets and manage a team of Account Managers and Account Directors. Together we worked on managing the day-to-day activities, account growth, future planning and innovation opportunities for our clients in a range of industries.
While the majority of my industry exposure and experience has been working on large digital transformation projects in the technology and automotive sectors, I have also had a lot of recent digital experience in Beauty and Professional services, working on UX projects such as E-commerce optimisation, Voice innovation, Amazon UX optimisation for L’Oreal and extensive Strategic planning for the Kantar Group, including SEO and domain strategy review.
Account DirectorSyzygy
- London, United KingdomFull Time
I started at SYZYGY as Account Director, in particular utilising my Japanese language and experience living in Japan, to develop the relationship and business with Mazda Corporation (Head office, Japan).
I successfully nurtured the relationship with Mazda Corporation and managed the process of redesigning and migrating their Global corporate website (www.mazda.com) to EPiServer.
Concurrently I managed the successful implementation and rollout of associated services such as web hosting and 24/7 technical support for them. I built upon this success with Mazda Corporation (Head office) to thereafter manage the redesign and re-platform to EPiServer of other regional Mazda websites including those for: Mazda Japan, Mazda Canada, Mazda Russia, Mazda Taiwan, Mazda South Africa, Mazda Australia, Mazda Thailand, Mazda Indonesia and Mazda Colombia.
