Merve is a London based Turkish ceramic maker who is
interested in opening up conversations and using
ceramics as a platform to convey messages. She creates
ornamental traditional forms, where she alters the form
for symbolic reasons. Her research is about stigma and
stereotypes in society and the key focus is
categorisation and how we simplify the world
around us. She expresses her research into material,
through surface expression and forms that reflects her
concept. Her intrigue on human behaviour and society
reflects back to her work.

London SE2 0AY, UKInternship
I have worked with brain injury clients giving art classes with ceramics. I have designated tasks and prepared the class program myself, leading from coil building to collecting objects from nature etc. and using them in ceramic processes .I have given importance to each clients different interest and made sure the course was without boundaries. Also cleaned up after studio and prepped the studio.
