Jenna Burchell’s “Songsmith” spurred my interest in combining art and spatial design to create impactful design. This artwork was created as interactive art in order to allow the viewer to gain a deeper understanding of the piece. Part of my identity as an artist and a designer is to provoke emotional responses from my viewers. I like to create concepts that provoke conversation whilst also being beautiful to the eye. Whilst spending the majority of my time torn between wanting to be a spatial designer or an artist, I am discovering the ways in which I can bring these two disciplines together in harmony. Thus creating work that provokes emotions and makes an impact.
