Concerned with materials, objects and space, Mia's personal practice often pairs photographic processes with a curiosity for the installation and physical potential of the medium, to observe and explore her subjects' relationships with space and materials.
Since receiving a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design from the London College of Communications and First Class degree in Photography from Manchester School of Art, Mia has been awarded by the Castlefeild Gallery as their honorary graduate, co-produced and exhibited her work as a part of Rencontres d'Arles photography festival and exhibited in China as part of Pingyao International Photography Festival.
Recent years have seen Mia working in London as an Art Director, Photographer and Digital Retoucher, after gaining experience as a Photographic Assistant and Digital Retoucher to a variety of commercial photographers. Aiming to continually widen her skillset, and use her artistic background and outlook to shape her own career in photography and the creative industries.
Portet's photographic style and eye translates well into her commercial work, having worked for a range of clientele including BEAST, Folk Clothing and Mini Uk to date.
