Fashion Society Social Media ManagerLancaster University Student's Union
- Lancaster, United KingdomPart Time
I have been in charge of the social media page for ISSUE, an affiliated society from Lancaster University. The society focuses on creating an inclusive space for students that are interested in fashion or the creative industry.
Throughout my time with ISSUE, I have learnt skills of managing a social media page and engaging with our student audience. I would create content occasionally, post and manage content as well as building relationships with our student body, ensuring a welcoming environment. I have learnt to create business bonds with local businesses and other societies through this position, and can engage people with my writing.
This position has also enabled me to work with other creatives, picking up skills of styling (through photoshoots we would host for local businesses) and creative direction throughout projects we would partake in.

The Society Sustainability AwardLancaster University Student's Union
Our universities students union hosts “The Society Awards” every year, bringing together our institutions societies for one night to celebrate our vast achievements through awards, food and live performances.
ISSUE, the Lancaster University fashion society that I was apart of won an award for their sustainable actions contributing to campus life. Throughout my time with ISSUE, we have emphasised the importance of sustainability through fashion.
We worked with local Lancaster charity shops, styling their clothing and promoting sustainable fashion to students by organising photoshoots with our exec and members. We also organise clothing swaps with our members, donating any unwanted items to local charities.
We also host workshops in collaboration with other societies to knit/paint/sew with sustainably sourced materials- with anything left over also being donated.
