Neighbourhd is about bringing the best musicians in the city of Birmingham together. We want to create an environment in which artists and musos can innovate, develop their craft and build/nurture a network within a generous and collaborative culture.
Practically speaking, the event is a formal but improvised Jam Night. We encourage music that is exciting, original and progressive. We're here for the long term prosperity of the music community, not for the hype. That said... it does get lively!
So you can audibly visualise the sound for the night; our community is inspired by artists like J Dilla, Robert Glasper, Outkast, Hiatus Kaiyote, The Roots, Moonchild, Jordan Rakei and Sergio Mendes. That said, we love to switch it up and welcome all kinds of genres and influences. All are welcome and we pride ourselves on an atmosphere where people feel they can be unfiltered-selves.
