BA (Hons) Fashion DesignThe University of Hertfordshire

Throughout to process of my degree I gained lots of design experience such as concept creation, which allowed me to use my skills in contemporary fashion understanding and visualization, along with understanding of todays fashion market. For Each project I was expected to create a garment, along with design portfolios and specification packs this gave me great understanding and knowledge in garment manufacture. Throughout my time at university I gained a passion for cad work which needed to be completed with each project, my love for adobe photoshop and illustrator has only grown from my time at university. In my final year I designed and created a six outfit collection inspired by split personality disorder, the collection featured an oversized aesthetic and a new take on classic woman’s tailoring, this collection also featured print which I used my skills in vinyl printing to create abstract prints that adorned the garments, my experience at F&F really helped with my final collection as I was able to put my skills to use in terms of the fit and overall look of each garment. This collection allowed me to use my strong garment manufacturing skills as well as making sure the collection and all samples were complete in line with the very strict deadlines. As well as a collection I also had to create my own brand, this was a great opportunity for me to use my skill in understanding todays current fashion market, I had to use my initiative to organize photoshoots, campaign videos as well as all other branding materials. University has given me invaluable experience that I think I can now use in a fashion design role.
