About me
Michael Jobling is an editor, writer and director, based in London and Nottingham.
His upcoming short drama ‘The Walk’ was awarded BFI Network funding and is produced by Griffin Pictures Ltd. Starring Adeel Akhtar, written by Sophie Ellerby, it tells the story of Amar, who, after his local bus route is cut, must walk a 24-mile round trip to and from his nearest JobCentre to avoid his benefits being cut.
In 2021, Michael was accepted on to the BFI NETWORK X Film hub Midlands Short Film Development Programme to develop his short dark-comedy ‘Dancing With Tears in My Eyes’, which is about alcoholism in your mid-20’s.
Michael co-wrote and co-directed a short thriller called ‘Ariella’ with his brother Jack after successfully raising £10,000 on Kickstarter in 2017. It has since been nominated for Best British Short at Birmingham Film Festival and is now hosted on Beyond The Short.
His graduate short film ‘Anoesis’ earned Michael a Royal Television Society Student award and was featured on Booooooom TV.
Michael is currently developing ideas for feature films.
His favourite flavour of crisp is chilli and lemon.
