Mike Butt is a Social Documentary Photographer and Photojournalist situated in Somerset, UK. In 2020, Mike was shortlisted for the Tom Stoddart Photojournalism and Documentary Award in partnership with Canon. Mike first started his education in photography at Bath Spa University studying for a Foundation degree in Photography. After completing the foundation degree Mike decided that he would like to specialise within the medium of Documentary Photography and Photojournalism. Mike studied Photojournalism and Documentary photography at the University of Gloucestershire gaining a first class honours degree. From working on live events as a photojournalist to creating long-term projects on social issues, the course has rounded Mike into a photographer who can become adaptable in any given situation.

Gwen met Allan whilst playing badminton at a local church. They knew as soon as they met each other that they loved each other and got married soon after in 1963. Gwen lived in London with her sister and brothers. And was evacuated from London, Islington when she was four during World War 2, and was sent to Weston-Super-Mare it was very different to London.
