- Mohanista Capsule Collection : EvolutionEvolution can be said to be a process of gradual, peaceful, progressive change or development. For evolution to occur change is inevitable and our lives are said to attain significance by how well we adapt to this change. This new collection by Moha Lami and Habiba wholeheartedly embraces that vision and seeks to help women evolve, beginning with their closet. The collection seamlessly combines the minimalisms of horizontal stripes and the jarring buoyancy of exotic floral prints. The collection is beautifully presented in easy to wear cuts and breathable fabrics. Light chiffon and silk fabrics give birth to a restyling of previously visited ideas; reorganized and presented with a subtle sense of nostalgia.
- Ourselves + OthersInspired by Nigerian scholar Obioma Nnaemeka’s theory of nego-feminism - a strand of African feminism - the ourselves + others: African feminist re-CREATIONS at SOAS will offer a unique mix of intellectual and performance-oriented programming. Centering women and nonbinary artists of African ascent, the festival will feature cutting-edge visual art, feminist theory, creative entrepreneurship, salons, live music, an afterparty, and more. The curated art and conversations will explore feminism, silence, and the body.
