Achievements
My proudest achievement as Assistant Curator was identifying and leading the successful marketing campaign that lead to WING being awarded ‘Best Art Gallery’ in Sussex by Muddy Stilettos 2019.
After a series of successful exhibitions and events, each running within budget with strong sales and subscription, I was promoted to Assistant Curator in Summer 2018. I have project managed the launch of the new website, eCommerce (launching Winter 2019) and newsletter subscription, increasing the audience by over 20% in one month, as well as our social media channels including YouTube, with our first two videos achieving over 100 views in under a week.
Responsibilities include:
• Gallery administration including collections management and enquiries from clients and artists;
• Creation and maintenance of the website, newsletter and eCommerce including interviewing artists;
• Introducing new artists into the gallery and securing works from artists for purchase;
• Events management, co-ordination of several events at one time, budget planning for individual and collaborative events, logistics of exhibitions, including travel and insurance, to ensure smooth running;
• Actively liaising with representatives, artists, clients and collectors including negotiating prices and raising invoices;
• Writing, editing and producing written materials and engaging content for the gallery;
• Marketing to engage and grow priority audiences and attract new visitors including use of Microsoft Office and Adobe Programmes (including Adobe InDesign and Photoshop) and upkeep and manage of database;
• Speaking at events and giving tours of the space; and
• Representing the gallery at external exhibitions, networking and collaborating with businesses and art groups and using the ‘Own Art’ scheme.
