About me
Nadia Eskandari is a Russian-Iranian, London-born violist, currently working as an instrumental freelancer, teacher and project manager. Having graduated from the University of Manchester with a first class degree in Music, Nadia joined the RNCM with a scholarship to study at postgraduate level with Vicci Wardman.
Nadia currently freelances across the UK in session, contemporary and classical work, and also experiments with electronics and improvisation. Notable performances as a freelancer have been with Snarky Puppy’s Bill Laurance with the Untold Orchestra, multi-award winning Arlo Parks at Manchester International Festival, and Sam Fender on Later with Jools Holland Live, and BBC Radio 1 Out Out Live! at Wembley Arena. Recent performances have included at The Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, with Chineke! Orchestra on their European tour and with Kings Place’s resident artist, Space Afrika. Nadia also worked as the violist and artistic director for Manchester Contemporary Youth Opera’s premiere at the Tête á Tête Festival in London, working closely with emerging composers in movement and improvisation.
She is a Lead Ambassador with the Benedetti Foundation where she assists and facilitates education workshops and is a mentor for other musicians and teachers. She is a passionate educator for Olympias Music Foundation.
