Nadia Eskandari is a London-born violist of Iranian-Ukrainian heritage. Her performances have spanned internationally with string quartet, Vulva Voce, from SXSW Texas to Glastonbury Festival as well as playing solo works at established UK venues such as King’s Place. Nadia currently freelances in session, contemporary and classical work, and also experiments with electronics and improvisation. Notable performances have been with Snarky Puppy’s Bill Laurance with the Untold Orchestra, multi-award winning Arlo Parks at Manchester International Festival, and Sam Fender on Later with Jools Holland Live, and BBC Radio 1 Out Out Live! at Wembley Arena. Recent performances have included at The Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, with Chineke! Orchestra on their European tour and Space Afrika. Nadia also worked as the violist and artistic director for Manchester Contemporary Youth Opera’s premiere at the Tête á Tête Festival in London, working closely with emerging composers in movement and improvisation. She is an Assistant Tutor and Assistant Mentor with the Benedetti Foundation and a passionate educator for Olympias Music Foundation. She is a graduate of the RNCM where she received a scholarship for her Masters degree to study with Vicci Wardman.
