Recent Graduate in International Events Management from the University of Brighton. Both my academic and business experience have prepared me for a successful career in the events industry. My internship at The Animal Farm Records required me to show initiative and demanded me to adapt quickly to working in a new industry. During my time at the label I expanded my social media skill set and learnt the importance of digital marketing in today’s music industry, I was also solely responsible for the end to end running of the labels monthly gig night. This involved liaising with all stakeholders and managing artists, negotiating payment from the venue, promoting the event, conducting sound checks and shutting down the event. Equally, my degree taught me to be extremely self- motivated and conduct a vast amount of independent research, particularly in completing my dissertation, which focused on the impact of social media and digital marketing on UK music events. Conducting this level of academic study provided me with skills I can implement in reviewing policies and procedures leading to improvements in both efficiency and cost effectiveness. My degree in International Events Management has provided me with a foundation of knowledge of the events sector. I completed modules in; - Understanding and Managing People, which I was able to implement during my internship, building my confidence in working with a variety of people. - Accounting, Economics and Business Strategy modules throughout my degree prepared me for the budget management. - Customer Relationship Marketing allowed me to understand the importance of customer relations and how this affects an organisations marketing strategy, I received a 1st for this module. My skills lie within the sphere of communication and people management, refined throughout a number of customer facing roles. Most importantly my role as customer service assistant at Waitrose, where I was responsible for managing the customer service team ensuring delivery of impeccable service. During my time at Waitrose I demonstrated that I can work well as part of a team. I am meticulously organised with a strong work ethic. Over the past year I have been travelling and working around South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Outside of my academic and professional life I have a strong interest in the environment, particularly animal conservation. I explored this during my time travelling by volunteering at an orangutang sanctuary in Borneo. My time travelling broadened my perspective on the world tremendously. I am a well rounded young person with an array of interests, I'm constantly eager to learn.
