From sculpture parks, to artistic performances to after parties, there was never a dull moment as I was able to work directly with artists and galleries to bring their creative visions to life. In this role I developed both creative and administrative skills and did work both behind the desk at the office to site visits and building stages onsite. Working alongside curator Emiliano Valdés, for the Art Dubai Commmissions programme we organised a series of performances in a series titled ‘Senación/Healing’ from 6 artists which occurred during the 5 days of the fair. For these performances we worked with designers to create two spaces where they would take place alongside AV specialists to actualise the vision of our curator through music and sound design. Working alongside artists such as Debashish Paul, Mithu Sen, Sajan Mani, Mirna Bamieh, Hashel Al Lamki and Cecilia Bengolea, these performances were well received by the extensive and diverse guests who attend Art Dubai. We succeeded in platforming artistic performance but convey the themes of healing which the performances were centred around. On top of this I helped organise a series of 4 afterparties titled the “After Dark Series” alongside cultural producer Megatronic and her company “Global Music Movement” where on each of our nights we centred performances around 1 of the 4 regions of the ‘Global South’ - Latin America, Middle East, South Asia and Africa. We collaborated with some of the biggest names in the region, for example DJ MoCity and My Analog Journal, as well as collectives and radio stations like Oroko Radio and Karak. The experiences I had whilst working at art Dubai for a few months have been essential in my career development alongside the growth of my knowledge and network of creatives who continue to have significant influence on Art and Culture within their regions and beyond.

In my three years of study, I focused mostly on political and social philosophy alongside ethics. I have always been fascinated by complex ethical questions where there is no clear 'right answer' yet any decision one would make has to be succinctly and logically justified as ethical. Being a creative problem solver, philosophy was a great degree to explore that skill because the more complex the ethical question, the more creative the solution would have to be. Overall, my philosophy degree has made me more balanced in my understanding of the world around us, and also aware that there are multiple solutions to problems that we may face in the workforce. Bristol was also a great city to immerse myself in the music scene, I spent lots of time playing at events as a freelance DJ, with groups such as Brown Excellence, Lost Track of Time and student radio stations such as 'Kafka Radio' alongside other one-off student events. I developed a great network of creatives who are now based within Bristol, London, Dubai and a few scattered globally.
