About me
I have just returned to the UK from a working holiday in Japan where I was working for Laila a Tokyo based vintage fashion retailer. My role was within the design team and involved helping in the design and development and production of Laila own label menswear clothing range. I am a flexible and versatile professional who has worked in both fashion design and production at the highest level in men’s and womenswear. I have excellent knowledge of the end to end processes involved in design through to production and a good insight into how to co-ordinate clothes. Finally, as someone who has spent many years working with different nationalities and cultures I believe I am well suited working with a diverse range of people helping to co-ordinate and bridge gaps in understanding.

  • Kimono Man
Kimono Mankimono men Shirt Collection Kimono Men is a collection that gives rebirth to the traditional Kimono into a modern range of men’s shirts. Created from hand picked superior vintage pre-war Kimono carefully co-ordinated and combined with English traditional tailored shirting. Crafted into a contemporary timeless design where old merges with new and west meets east in a re-invention of style that is the Kimono Men range of shirts. Each piece of Kimono has been specially selected and chosen for it’s aesthetic quality to give the shirt an air of classic agelessness. No two shirts are exactly the same providing a unique and bespoke article of tailoring giving the wearer a feeling of individuality.

Work history
    Design & Product Development
     -
Full time job within up and coming Tokyo based fashion design label and retailer which specializes in vintage fashion. My role was within the design team and involved helping in the design and development and production of Laila own label menswear clothing range. Key responsibilities involved design drawing, production oversight and working with suppliers. My influence within the company resulted in an adoption of a better design process that fully supported and instructed the producers and factories in making better quality products and therefore helped to increase sales of their own brand label products.
