About me
Design has been a life long passion of mine. From a young age I spent hours creating my own birthday invites on Microsoft Paint and loved copying the craft projects from Blue Peter. This appetite to explore, create and take on any challenge is the foundation of my design journey. I am an innovative designer, who enjoys staying on top of trends and using my wide range of design skills to create appropriate forward-thinking responses.
Throughout my employment history I have given 100% to each and every challenge, absorbing many responsibilities and aspects of a business. I have enjoyed a healthy freelancing career, which has included designing crests for primary schools, advertising videos, wedding/family portrait photography, flyers, business cards, and wedding stationery.
I have an advanced level of knowledge in many programmes within the Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Lightroom, After Effects and Premier Pro. I am a fast learner and can develop new skills quickly. Having a knowledge of the Adobe layout has helped me transfer my skills to any programme within the suite.
Over the past 3 years I have been studying a BA in Graphic Art & Design. This has stretched me as a designer to seek out new methods to developing my work. Throughout the course I have enjoyed working collaboratively on several projects, this has taught me how to use the strengths and weaknesses of a group, throughout the creative design process. I have used my time at university to stretch my design skills, I can confidently say I have used the available resources to evolve my practice. I have enjoyed many group critiques and presentations, this has been a great resource to share my ideas and concepts, with my peers and tutors, and receive feedback.
Projects
- KPS School BadgeI have worked with Killowen Primary School on many occasions, taking photographs to keep their school publications up to date, and creating an advertisement video for the school. I was asked to create them a child-friendly school badge, using design ideas the children had created themselves, I was delighted to add my own twist to this unique idea. This badge is on all their stationery, signs, advertisements and all the children's uniforms.

Work history
Wedding Stationery Designer
Freelance
I create bespoke wedding stationery for different engaged couples, this requires regular communication with the couple so that I create an invitation that reflects their big day and they would be excited to send to their friends and family. Furthermore, while communicating with the couple to ensure they are happy with the end product, I also have to communicate with the printer to discuss, paper weight, cost, paper stock and print layout.
Assistant Photographer

Photography assistant, I organised photo shoots and took part in them. I helped out with a lot of the background work in the business, liaising with clients, working with printers and setting work up for the printers. During our events I would be the main point of contact with clients, I would edit all photographs and sell them to customers, I took the money and noted down all sales for the books. When in the office I would then keep the books up to date on a daily basis, incomings and outgoings. On many occasions I was able to be main photographer on photo shoots, on one occasion I was given the opportunity to work with actor James Nesbitt (the Hobbit, Lucky Man & Cold Feet) It was at a large event, where I had to organise group photoshoots, take the photos, and make sure we were finished for the main event where James was speaking.
