I am a freelance writer, radio person and designer. My writing has featured in Monocle magazine, The Sunday Times Travel Magazine, gal-dem and NME. I have also created packages and served as a researcher for Monocle’s radio station M24. Before going out into the world alone as a freelancer, I was a sub-editor at The Independent. There was a brief period before that where I could be found in Singapore working as an editorial assistant across three Singaporean lifestyle magazines – LiveWell, LiveWell Woman and LiveWell Baby. I am able to self-shoot and edit video, audio and photography, as well as write original and creative work — all of which I am able to produce quickly and with flair. I am proficient with Adobe editing software, including Photoshop, Audition, InDesign and Premiere Pro. As a sub-editor I have a good knowledge of SEO and experience of various CMS. As a sub-editor I ensure features, news and interviews are thoroughly fact-checked and edited to house style across both the website and the daily app edition. This guarantees the consistent high quality demanded by The Independent. I also maintain high standards of communication with the team and wider editorial staff. This helps the chief sub keep track of progress and amendments to ensure we are ready to publish the app edition.
