As Production Manager I organised all aspects of live music events that took place within the venue. This included DHPs in house shows and touring acts as well as liaising with external hiring parties from all of the UK's major promotion groups. My role was highly varied, but some key focuses were:
• Negotiating with and supporting the promoter, pre, during and post event to ensure the all technical aspects are compatible within the limitation of the venue and that the event is correctly marketed to ensure it has the best possible chance of success.
• Manage equipment, crew and transport for the venue pre-event and liaising with the client on site at the event.
• Working with on-site technical crew to ensure the clients vision for the event is realised.
• Designing creative solutions for any challenges that occur when on site.
• Post event completion of costs, invoicing and all related paperwork.
• Working with the venue to constantly update equipment, review processes and implement creative ideas.
• Building and maintaining relationships with external promoters and suppliers to maintain the companies’ image and ensure smooth cooperation on any future events.
• Recruited, retained & motivated my team to drive the success of the venue.
Alongside this as a Venue Manager I assisted in the day to day operational side of venue management which varied daily depending on the needs of the venue but my core tasks centred around:
• Duty managing shifts throughout the week, this included running the bar and restaurant during the week and the club on weekends.
• Team management of all staff on site to ensure they are working efficiently to deliver good customer service.
• Operational support including managing payroll, ordering etc
• Assisting the promotion team with social media content and graphic design work.
• Health and Safety management, mainly in completing risk assessments for specific event productions and ensuring the site is fully compliant
• Kitchen management and chef assistance when required.
• Booking in and liaising with security staff to ensure the safe running of the venue and exemplary customer service during operating hours
• Designing menus and other promotional material for the bar and restaurant.

I have previously worked as a freelance representative for MJRs events in venues around the country. This required me to travel to unfamiliar venues and carry out duties including:
• Working closely with venue staff and touring parties to ensure that each event is delivered to a high professional standard
• Overseeing technical aspects and ensuring the visual and audio elements of the event are up to fully functioning
• Stage management including monitoring and enforcing strict running times and curfews
• Team management of all freelance staff including runners/box office to ensure they are working efficiently to deliver good customer service
• Overseeing all event logistics including creating schedules and liaising with touring parties to ensure these are understood and followed
• Liaise with PA companies and freelancers to ensure all details have been received and understood
• Negotiating, amending and editing catering and technical riders in line with the agreed costings
• Preparing a final report post-show with detailed financials, reporting issues sent to MJRs Production department and company directors
