About me
Hi, I am Nathan, born and raised on the Isle of Wight. Now living in the beautiful Mendip Hills just south of Bristol. At University I studied Graphic Communication with Typography, with a specialism in Branding and identity. During my design career, I have worked both as a freelancer and within an in-house design team, this experience has had me; pitching design concepts, both in-person and digitally to clients and liaising directly with in-house and agency design teams. I have had the opportunity to work on national campaigns, short animations, website design, UX/UI, editorial design, and filmed at several locations around the UK. I’m always looking at new technologies to try and give the client the best possible solution to their problem. Whether it be 3D printing, Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality, I’m always happy to learn something new. Which has given me a well-rounded skill set and I always look forward to the challenge of turning my hand to something new. My two main passions in life have to be Design and Cycling. Over the years I have competed in many cycling events throughout the UK, which would have culminated in the Appenninica Stage Race in Italy this year. Some say I’m odd but I would much rather be out on my bike hitting the trails around my house than having a lazy Sunday any day!

    Middleweight Graphic DesignerLifetime Training
    Bristol, United KingdomFull Time
Whilst working at Lifetime Training I have had the opportunity to work with some of the UK's biggest brands including; McDonald's, Wetherspoons, John Lewis, and Greene King. My role was to help our clients communicate to young people across the UK about the benefits of Apprenticeships and further learning. I have continued to build on the relationships with clients from my previous role. With my new role within the company, I have pitched new design concepts both in-person and digitally to clients, leased directly with our client's in-house design teams, working either to their own brand guidelines or creating new brand guidelines for them. I have had the opportunity to work on national campaigns, short animations, website design, UX/UI, editorial design, and filmed at a number of locations around the UK.

At university I was heavily involved in the Design Society, first being a social secretary organising evenings out and liaising with sponsors and venues. Taking on the role of exhibition curator in my final year involved organising joint exhibitions with other societies and visiting guests from other countries throughout the academic year. During my third year, I also worked with the university’s student union to provide art direction to produce signage for the university’s annual summer ball. This involved costings, changing deadlines, liaising with other departments, designing, making, hand-painting and arranging the signs around the university.
