I oversaw the planning and execution of all production elements, logistics and site operations including the concept, coordination and sale of 10 murals, 3 large scale sculptural installations and a group exhibition. I was also charged with the development, implementation and management of site plans, site layouts, and production schedules. I oversee day to day operations, staging, security, signage, storage, staffing, site management, crowd management, traffic control, rentals, safety and emergency policies. My role determined and secured necessary permits, licenses, documentation and insurance. I prepared quotes, cost items and maintained production operating budgets. I liaised with property owners, community partners, State departments and other stakeholders regarding funding via the sale of murals, the pre-sale of exhibited works, profit sharing from events and site setups, site operations, transportation management planning and access.
I managed all aspects relating to the production of Opera Gallery London’s exhibitions, both on site, at pop-up events and at Art Fairs. This included working with curators and artists to ensure installations, site specific works and editions were executed to exacting standards and completed on time and within budget. In addition to this I worked alongside the Director and external contractors to complete a full renovation of the Bond Street Gallery. I was also solely responsible for the galleries TI and Bond accounts, Tax and VAT reporting, the galleries storage facility along with negotiating preferential rates with various fine art agents and contractors. This role also required me to take on post-sale relationships so that a full sales package could be provided to a client. I was also charged with creating consignment agreements, issuing invoices and I headed a team of registrars and technicians and would manage their projects on a weekly basis, including any issues raised by staff
I solely managed all aspects of various fine art logistic and production jobs, from start to finish, including transportation and installation schedules. Jobs range from exhibition management for UK museums, loans coming from / going to international shows, sales jobs, installation jobs and technical projects. I worked to varying budget levels for a cross section of different clients. I also regularly advised and arranged various crating/shipping options for clients and galleries working to different financial and practical requirements. This role has made me able to deal with constantly conflicting priorities and ever changing job specifications. While at Momart I have also built firm relationships with various agents from across the world which enabled smooth running jobs and the ability to negotiate over price.
During my time with Jealous Gallery I was heavily involved in all aspects of planning and organizing the exhibitions and events that took place at their Box Park pop-up space, as well as being responsible for the day to day administration of the space. I would regularly take orders for prints and would advise customers on framing options when required. I also managed and oversaw the shipping of works and maintained the galleries inventory. I was also responsible for producing visitor data for the gallery. This required good numeracy skills and a high attention to detail when collating spreadsheets and various reports for the gallery manager.
Provided coordination assistance to three senior exhibitions coordinators as well as managing my own projects. I?worked with various institutions and galleries from across the world to bring together high profile exhibitions. Many of which were ‘touring’ shows and required a high level of involvement. During this time I have gained a very strong understanding of the ‘loaning’ procedure for exhibitions. I regularly prepare documents for domestic and international shipments along with export documents, licence applications and customs procedures all being practiced daily. As well as making travel arrangements for various couriers and members of the Momart technical team.
While at the Brick Lane Gallery I assisted with the planning of their fortnightly events and exhibitions along with the installation and dispersal of shows. I oversaw email enquires and also handled sales directly with clients on the telephone and within the gallery as I worked as a sales advisor. I also handled payments and database maintenance, updated the galleries mailing list, liaised with suppliers and promoted the gallery on social networking sites. In addition to this I invigilated the shows, acting as a point of reference to visitors, providing information about fees and services the gallery offers.
